How to connect the camera via the HotSpot of your phone?

In two scenarios, you might need to connect camera to a Personal Hotspot to verify if the issue lies with the camera or home Wi-Fi

Scenario 1: You don't have access to a Wi-Fi network in your house.

Scenario 2: You cannot connect your camera to your home Wi-Fi, then you can try to connect it to a Personal Hotspot.


Step1

Please prepare two devices (One phone and one tablet or two phones) and a fully charged Wi-Fi-enabled camera.

Step 2.1 
How to enable mobile hotspots on iPhone or iPad?
  1. Turn on Personal Hotspot on one of the phones.
  2. Go to Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot or Settings > Personal Hotspot. (If you do not see Personal Hotspot in Settings, please select Cellular and then enable Personal Hotspot.)
  3. Tap the slider next to Allow Others to Join.
  4. Enable the Maximize Compatibility feature.
Please note your iPad will need to support both WiFi + Cellular with an activated SIM card inserted and not an iPad model that supports WiFi only.




Step 2.2 

How to enable mobile hotspots on Android?
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Select Connection & Sharing
  3. Tap on the personal hotspot.
  4. This page has options for turning the hotspot feature on and off. Additionally, you can change the network name, security type, password, and more.



Step 3
Download and install the littlelf app on the second phone or tablet.

Step 4
Connect the second phone or tablet to the Personal Hotspot. Go to Settings > WLAN/Wi-Fi, select the Hotspot to connect.

Step 5
Open the app to connect camera to the Personal Hotspot. 
tap Home then the + in the upper right corner. Then tap Add Device > Cameras and select your camera.
Follow the prompts and choose the Hotspot on the network page to set up your camera again.

 

If the connectivity issue is resolved after your device is connected to your mobile hotspot but still exists when the device is connected to your 2.4GHz WiFi network, please check the settings and configurations on your router.

If the connectivity issue is not resolved after your device is connected to your mobile hotspot, please contact customer support for further assistance.
